Aloha from Eric and Lisa West. We love our VW Vanagon named "Esperanza" (that means Hope in Spanish) but we just call him "Espee" for short. We are available to chat anytime to answer all of your questions about our camper, general questions about Maui, we even have a website with all of the info you need about camping on Maui...just ask me for the site address and I will give it you (no obligation or cost)Why do we rent our beloved VW Campers on Maui? Well, we want YOU to experience what we experience. Sleeping to the sound of waves gently lapping the sand and catching the dawn patrol glassy waves as the sky turns purple. It’s that moment when chills race up your spine and you exhale every ounce of stress as the Maui carrys you (and your stress!) away. You really DON'T know What you need, until it's too late. That's why you should only rent a camper from someone like us. We do this for FUN and know exactly what you will need and therefor we have uber outfitted the van!The BIG advantage of Espee is the over-sized wide fold out queen sized bed. The Advantage is not Just the much wider bed. You also have more interior room to move about and we've equipped Espee with the best outdoor living and cooking camping accessories on the market today. For example, the Clam (this is an outdoor room/gazebo) you can place it anywhere but most people set it up right next to the van! It is the envy of all your fellow neighbor campers, and is the perfect place to hang out, cook, clean, relax and enjoy your ocean side Maui, whale splashing view.We are committed to providing the most cutting edge camping products on the market today. From the outdoor propane cooking stove (Camp Chef Explorer EX60LW) to the most comfortable cool weather Coleman Oakpoint sleeping bags..(that even zip together!) Even the lighting (Suboos) is the ultimate in Rechargeable LED Lanterns. This camper van simply has everything you need for the most epic adventure on the island of Maui. Our van is equipped and includes a Yakima Roof Rack System and tie downs for surfboards, paddles boards and anything else you'd like to transport overhead.Outdoor Gazebo Room called a 'Clam"! Outdoor Portable Gazebo! We have something called a Clam (just google Clam Portable Gazebo to learn more) so while you are camping you can Quickly set this up next to the van for your additional outdoor living area, cooking area, sleeping area (if you like) It's bug proof and makes a great sun shade!Sleeping Comfort is the KEY!(whatever you do, make Sure your van rental has the following!!!)
Surround Curtains for sleeping privacy AND custom mosquito netting for back hatch door so you can enjoy your evenings along with staying cool with the ocean breezes without the bugs!! This van even is equipped with the latest full front wrap around for noise, light and sunlight (heat) insulation.The Rules of The Van 1) Not allowed to drive up Haleakala 2) No smoking 3) No pets 4) No towing 5) Use only highest octane fuel - 92 6) Van must be returned full of fuel. 7) You must have full coverage on at least 1 vehicle you personally own. 8) You must take a shuttle to the VAN in Kaanapali (just north of Lahaina in West Maui. The cost is only $25 per person (plus tax) We DO offer Airport Drop OFF for $50 but we longer offer Airport Pick UP since we have found the shuttle service is much faster (and the same price) than us driving to the airport to pick you up (due to West Maui traffic going TO Kahului) 8) Check in 3pm and Check Out is 11am. These are our standard times, exceptions can be made IF the schedule allows and we have adequate time for cleaning and maintenance.Please be sure to select your choice of 'Add Ons" for example, 2 sets of snorkel gear, hammocks, cook set, dishes, pots, pans, bedding (sheets, pillows, blankets, sleeping bags) soft-top surf board, Stand Up Paddle Board, boogie boards, beach chairs, etc. We have them to rent. Well, let me tell you. This is all about beating the crowds. Going left when everyone else goes right. This is not the kind of stuff you get staying at some over-priced resort with the masses. Welcome to the Real Maui. You will see and feel what usually only the locals get to experience. True Intimacy with the Pacific Ocean and all that Maui has to offer. But you Need the quintessential surf van to make it happen.Also. this one is NOT like Most other VW's you see online to rent. Unlike most Maui VW campers (owned by big companies) that are rented to the masses and look nothing in person like they do in the photos. This van is special. Why? Well it is one of our two babies.
