Welcome to Alaska!Hello we’re Chris and Jeanny, and honored to take care of your family while in the magical land of the Midnight Sun! Our service can't be beat!Scheduling on the Owner Portal is a bit wonky for turn-in/return days, so if you try to check availability and your dates don't show available, please message and we'll see if its a calendar issue. We allow same-day changeover (some turns-in at 11am and we rent it to the next guest same day at 3pm), but some reason the calendar isn't showing those days available. Thanks! We have discounts for if your stay goes over 7 days, and even larger discount if it goes 30 days! Always a military/veteran/first responder discount! We're veteran owned ourselves.Need picked up and/or dropped at the airport? No problem, we’ll take care of you free of charge. After pickup we’ll drive to a grocery store and conduct a comprehensive rundown of the RV, finish the paperwork before leaving you to start your travels. We know the flight to AK is long and complicated, so we’re flexible on your check-in/out time. We’ll set general pickup/dropoff times to get you in the system, but remain flexible +/- as long as it doesn’t interfere with other renters. We got you...no penalties for this and no hidden fees...ever. 24/7 support as we know many are new to both AK and the RV lifestyle. We’re experienced RV renters ourselves and just became owners again with this immaculate 2022 31' Forest River Forester LE 2851SLE, with room for 7 adventurer seekers. It drives smoothly, so don’t worry if you’re new to RVs.Note the open floor plan? We love it and it’s one of the main reasons we selected this RV...there’s so much space even when the slideout is retracted during travel (compare this to other RVs). Worried about fitting a 31-footer into RV parks? Well, Alaska RV parks are huge compared to the L48. Our RV is the #1 rental size for single/multiple families here, so you won’t have an issue. What's includedOk, here’s the details you really came here for:
- Unlimited miles and generator use
- Sleeping/seatbelts for 8/7. Queen bedroom sleeps 2, cab-over queen sleeps 2. Couch and dining table each sleep 2 (optimal for kids/teenagers due to 45"x65" size). Bathroom/shower are split for independent use. Bathroom door can latch & block the bedroom/bathroom/shower from the rest of RV…great for some parent privacy and so you don’t have to change in a tight bathroom
- Backup camera…because…we don’t all drive a 31’ car everyday
- Awning
- Full size RV refrigerator/freezer, microwave and 3-burner stove to save tons of $$ on food
- 30K BTU ducted furnace for crisp mornings
- 15K BTU ducted A/C for those who've become “Alaskan”
- Water filtration
- 4K built-in generator (free unlimited use). AK is the land of “boondocking” and you’ll have tons of opportunity to stay in road pull-offs and next to rivers chock full of salmon totally $$ free.
- 9.7 gallon propane tank (free full tank for unlimited use)
- Hot water heater to wash off those adventures
- Solar panel/inverter to charge batteries and run basic RV functions when boondocking
- Full upscale linens, towels and kitchen accessories. Many renters bring their own linens, so just coordinate your needs
- Premium camping chairs, fold-out table, propane grill, coolers, fishing rods, etc. Message me for a full comprehensive list of 80+ complimentary items so you can pack light!
- We got you coffee addicts covered too (you know who you are) with a coffee pot/Keurig.
- TV w/antenna, Firestick and DVD player/board games
- Bundle of firewood/accessories
- Tons of internal/external storage for all your gear
- Basic first aid items
- Roadside emergency kit
- Bug spray
and bear spray (both can be pesky :))
- Carbon monoxide/smoke/propane alarm systems
RecommendationsWe know the trip is expensive, so combining lodging with transportation in an RV is smart & will save you hundreds $$ per day. Plus, an RV provides the trip flexibility to stay/go wherever you want, adjust to the weather, fish runs, community events and the inevitable evolution of your AK bucket list. We’re also experienced AK explorers so we can provide tons of recommendations to tailor your adventure. Word of warning...once you experience AK you WILL be back! We want to earn your future business through the best customer service in the industry. Did I mention repeat customer discounts?!Other things to noteWe know check-in is a bit chaotic and tough to recall all the details, so we’ll email/text you a couple short videos on RV orientation and operation. We want your experience to be as stress-free as possible, so we offer a one-and-done cleaning deposit program (not a fee) so don’t fret over interior cleaning and dumping the tanks at the end if your schedule is tight. You’ll receive the camper in pristine condition with a full 55-gallon gas tank/44-gallon clean water tank/empty dump tanks. We charge an honest $50 an hour cleaning fee, so if time is tight, just fill the gas tank at the end and we’ll take care of the rest. Routine exterior cleaning is always at our expense (paved road use mandatory), you don’t have to find a truck stop car wash. Interior cleaning/laundry/dumping deposit is billed at an honest $50 an hour, the remaining is returned same day (we anticipate one hour charge for normal cleanings yielding a $200 refund). Tank dumping will require an additional hour round trip. Damage deposit released by us on the same day at end of cleaning as well...no delays! We sanitize everything to ensure renter safety and comfort. This is a priority for us!Travel is restricted to the contiguous state of Alaska. Paved road travel only. There are many remote non-paved roads in AK that can be hazardous with changing conditions and have zero cell service. For this reason, travel is confined to paved roads only. This is standard practice for rental agencies in Alaska.Certified service dogs only, no exceptions.Thank you for choosing us to help make your vacation epic!

Jeanny and I live to explore Alaska! We chase fish with a flyrod in the summer and icefish all winter. We pick a new hike nearly every weekend and love to explore new small towns and remote areas

Had a blast doing the RV thing in Alaska, even though the trip was a little rainy. Christopher was a great host, very accommodating for pickup and drop off, throughly explained everything on the RV (great for those of us that are not frequent RVers), RV was clean and everything was in working condition, even included extra items that were nice to have (camping chairs, etc). Definitely would recommend this host to friends and family, very nice people.

Chris was amazing and made this whole process so easy. If you are hesitating to do this trip with an RV, contact Chris through Outdoorsy and you will be blown away at the kindness and ease he makes the process. Thanks Chris.

Have a question?Get answers directly from the host

Q.What flexibility is available for picking up and dropping off the RV?
A.
Super flexible. We know flight arrival times are all around the clock, and delays are common with several connections to make it north. so we can take care of you both before and after the trip depending on other rental timing. We can grab the entire family at the airport and run to a grocery store (Walmart off Old Seward Hwy or the one off A Street are very popular for this). We'll help ensure you don't incur an extra day of lodging at a hotel or be stuck with your suitcases for long

Q.Are there any special tricks and tips that would help with operating the RV easily?
A.
1) Slow down, you have a much longer stopping length 2) Don't text. In your car you are 5' wide and can afford some lane wobble...in an RV you're 8 1/2' wide and if you wander just a bit you're already hitting the person in the next lane. 3) Turns require much wider arcs to prevent hitting curbs and objects 4) Backing up is the source of most damage...always have a spotter on the driver's side rear corner watching your path

Q.How do the electric, water and sewage hook up work while setting up at the campground?
A.
We'll text you videos on camper operation for reference later in the trip. The orientation covers a lot and its easy to miss some key details. YouTube videos are great too, but many remote areas have bad signal so you want the video downloaded. Will also have a book in the RV with common tasks

Q.Can I drive anywhere with my rental?
A.
While the mileage is unlimited, the RV is required to stay within the contiguous state of Alaska (can't drive to Canada or put the RV on any kind of water ferry). Additionally, Alaska is full of desolate gravel highways that run for miles and miles. These roads are notorious for eating vehicle tires, causing accidents, getting people stuck with zero cell signal. As such just like other rental agencies in AK, our RV is for paved road use only.
