Other things to note- This van is meant for people who want to be in the slow lane. Vanagons are underpowered by nature, so please don't expect to be a hot rod in a Vanagon.- The bed sizes are both full size (about 54" x 74"). That means they are smaller than queen size, but bigger than twin. Please don't expect the most spacious RV in the world for sleeping, and be ok with snuggling up!- There is no bathroom in our van, so make sure there is a place to go wherever you stay. I do have a very basic portable toilet that uses plastic bags available as an add-on.- This van is not fully restored, so please don’t expect her to be in mint condish. There is cosmetic wear, but it just gives her some character. She’s still clean and mechanically sound, though.- Let us know if you would prefer to receive the van with the water tank full using the add-ons - there is no charge for this. Note that an empty water tank will reduce weight, and improve gas mileage if you'll have a water source at your destination.- The fridge runs great when plugged into shore power, but is finicky to light and does not cool as well while running on propane (I saw between 40-50 deg F when running on propane). This is very common for stock Westfalia fridges. I do offer a 52 QT RTIC cooler in the add-ons section if you don't have your own cooler.

Had a great trip to the Columbia River Gorge in Mark’s Westy. The van ran great and had everything we needed for a weekend camping. Comfortable sleeping arrangement and the add ons helped complete everything.

Mark was incredibly flexible, accommodating, communicative, and understanding. We had a few hiccups prior to my arriving in Washington, but despite those hiccups, I was able to pick up the van without any issues. I'd absolutely rent from him again and plan to the next time I'm in WA.

Mark is great and communicated well throughout the process. The Westy was clean and well equipped for our trip: comfortable for 2 to 4 person traveling. Its relatively short length (15 ft) makes it easier to drive and park than many other campers, and the pop-up roof is classic. It did require a little TLC during our ~600 mile journey, but that's expected for a vehicle like this. Highly recommend for anyone interested the Westy experience.

"My two friends and I had the most incredible trip to PNW, and Mark's campervan was such a huge part of that. We spent 5 days living in it, and it exceeded our expectations completely. The van itself was so fun and easy to drive- it got us through both scenic drives and city exploration. But on top of easy transportation, it was a cozy home away from home! A few things we loved: The beds are both very comfortable and easy to set up. Mark had linens and lightweight, incredibly cozy/warm comforters for each bed. At night when it got colder, we used the propane heater and it warmed us quickly! The back area is actually quite spacious when the lower bed is not pulled out. The whole audio/gps system at the front works really well. We always had music and directions. The visibility within the van is amazing- perfect for all our scenic drives! The curtains covered all the windows nicely, and that was nice for privacy when parking in the cities/sleeping at night. There is space for extra storage in a couple different compartments inside the van, as well as in the lockbox attached to the top.
As far as extra little things that made the van feel like home, Mark went above and beyond. There was a bag of coffee for us, koozies, strung lights that we set up each night, propane for the jetboil and for the heater, cleaning supplies like trash bags/paper towels/toilet paper, and a rug/throw blanket/throw pillows to make it feel like we were in our own little living room every time we got in the van.
Mark was an incredible host! This was his first time renting out his van, and he acted as if he had done it a hundred times. He was quick to respond beforehand and during our trip if we ever needed anything, and he was clear in communication. During the run-through beforehand he explained SO thoroughly how to operate the van and how to use its features, and that really set us up to enjoy it well!

Q.What kind of fuel economy can I expect?
A.
Original manufacturer fuel economy estimate: -17 MPG City -18 MPG Highway

Q.How long will the battery last while using it with the engine off?
A.
It is difficult to estimate the amount of time the battery will last while using it to power appliances with the engine turned off. This depends on the amount of current being drawn over time. We recommend checking the battery charge indicator light on the galley to get an estimate of the battery charge. A good rule of thumb would be to drive the van to recharge the battery before the battery gets to the "red" level.

Q.How long will the propane last?
A.
Like the battery, it is difficult to estimate the amount of time the propane will last while using it to to cook or cool the refrigerator, as it varies by the amount of use. The capacity of the propane tank is 3 Lbs.

Q.Heating is listed. Does this mean the van has a heater that can be used while the engine is off?
A.
There is heating from the engine as well as an auxiliary electric heater under the bench seat that can be used while the engine is running. There isn't a permanently installed auxiliary heater, but we offer a portable propane heater, and a small electric fan-forced heater that can be used when electrical hookups are available.
