July 20233

This trip with this coach was not a good experience from the beginning. There are two people to communicate with. The owner Michael lives out of state and Grant is the person that lives where the coach is. That was confusing as I was hearing from two different people. The day that we were to pick up the coach Grant informed me that the key had been broken off in the door. This meant two things. It meant that we were not able to secure/lock the coach and it meant that we would not be able to get into the outdoor kitchen. The outdoor kitchen is another issue. In the week leading up to us renting the coach Grant informed me that the outdoor kitchen is not useable and that the two burner stove is not hooked up and that nobody uses it. This contradicts the pictures on the website that show an outdoor kitchen that we had planned on using for this trip. When we picked up the coach the address on the website is incorrect. The address is for the house across the street where Michael used to live. Again, when we picked up the coach I was glad that I had brought my hitch for my truck as the one that Grant has with the coach is missing the two components that allow it to be hooked up to the weight distribution bars. When I picked up the coach I noticed that the steps to the coach seemed to be very loose and not very supportive. When we got to our campsite we realized that the top step had a missing bolt. We were able to put a band aid fix on the steps for the week so that we would not break them entirely or fall getting in and out of the coach. While setting up out campsite we realized that there were many more issues with this coach. The screen to protect the hot water is secured with black duct tape. The window at the dining room table does not open due to the had crank being broken off. The screen for the window at the front of the coach, not the emergency window, is out. The screen for the window on the lower bunk is also out. When we went to sit at the table it was not stable at all. When we looked underneath, one of the table legs was broken and had been secured with black duct tape. Needless to say this meant that we could not sit inside at the table for meals or card games for the duration of the trip. The top bunk had sand all over and under the mattress. The refrigerator had a horrible smell to it when we opened it up to set up camp. When we returned the trailer the explanation given to us by Grant was that a previous renter had fish in there. While levelling the trailer off we realized that one of the four tires is almost completely bald compared to the other three tires. We were happy that we were not travelling in rain/winter. We kept the lines of communication with Grant and Michael open for the duration of the trip. Upon our return and dropping off the coach with Grant we reiterated to him the mulitple issues that we had for the week which in part led us to bring the coach back a day early. We requested a refund of 25% of what we had paidand Michael and Grant would only agree to half. We thought the 25% was fair due to the condition of the coach and the mutliple issues that we had and the time we spent trying to fix them so we could enjoy our trip. We will not be renting this coach again in the future and our recommendation to outdoorsy and to Michael and Grant was to take this coach off of the website until the maor, if not all, issues are fixed.
