Our 2015 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter Van gets an amazing 22 mpg and is equipped with a king-sized bed (with bedside phone holders and charge ports), an inviting cabin area with a fridge, sink, microwave, and a huge rear storage space for all your equipment (luggage, bikes, camping/sports gear, etc.).Grab your partner, best friend, or ride solo and GO! This van is perfect for weekend, 5-day, or even week-long trips around Michigan: to Traverse City, the Upper Peninsula, Mackinaw, and beyond! Our van was built and equipped to optimize the traveler's experience. The simple yet stylish interior keeps the van lightweight so travelers can enjoy amazing fuel efficiency while on the road. The thoughtful features such as a dual battery system and an extra-large bed allow travelers some modern comforts while out exploring. In addition to the basics, our van has custom cabinetry, epoxy countertops, no-slam drawers, 5-gallon sink water tanks, ceiling vent fan, a 6-speaker stereo system, heating furnace, windows for easy airflow, blackout curtains, window/door screens, and so much more!Important Notes- Please bring your own blankets & advanced cooking gear- No cabin AC. The van has dash AC while running, but that is not meant or able to cool the cabin area- There is no septic system. There's a bagging toilet system that is prepared in the van, but we suggest renters use outside restroom facilities if/when possible for better convenience and comfort.- The van needs to be connected to shore power (aka "plugged in" to a power source) in order to get full electrical capabilities of outlets and appliances. When not connected to power, only lower-voltage items will function: lights, ceiling fan, sink faucet, 12-volt phone charging ports, etc. Larger items such as the microwave and the 110-volt wall outlets will NOT work when the van is "off-grid". This is standard with most RVs to help preserve batteries. What's includedIncluded is:- 500-watt portable "power pack" for an additional off-grid power source

RecommendationsGrand Rapids is the gateway to Northern Michigan! Once you get the van, we suggest heading North. Have the van for a weekend? Check out the amazing beaches and wilderness of Northwest Michigan. Have longer? Head to the Upper Peninsula ("da UP") to take on Lake Superior and the hundreds of waterfalls throughout the region.Want to keep it local in Grand Rapids/West Michigan? Spend a weekend exploring the lakeshore: from South Haven to Ludington! Tons of beaches, parks and trails to explore. Maybe just park in Grand Haven and enjoy the world-class beach on Lake Michigan before walking into town for dinner.Other things to note- The mileage allowance is 175 miles per night rented. So, if you book for 3 nights, your mileage allowance would be 525 miles. Any miles over is 40 cents extra per mile. This should be more than enough, please message with special requests.- Pets are allowed, but there is an extra $100 fee per booking.- Pets are NOT allowed in/on the bed.- We have other equipment you can buy or rent, per request! When you get the keys for the van, we will make sure you have everything you need for an amazing trip.- No off-roading (two-track roads and just off the road for parking are okay).- No smoking (of any kind) inside the van.

Had a very comfortable and easy trip thanks to JP and his great camper van. JP was very good to work with and quick to respond to any questions. The van works great for traveling, was well equipped, and was easy to pack up to head to the next destination.

Van was perfect for a weekend in the Upper peninsula with more primitive camping. First time using this app and I couldn't ask for a more flawless and easy transaction with picking up and dropping van off. Would recommend this van to anyone.

JP's 'Michigan Explorer' van was perfect for a weekend getaway with my girlfriend. It's not overly "fancy", but that's what we wanted. Great for casual enjoyment and functionality at a great price. It drove so smoothly and I could tell that it's very well maintained inside and out. We couldn't believe the views we got from just looking through the huge front windshield as we drove down the road. I felt like I was sitting outdoors with 180 degree views--it was mesmerizing. The bed was larger than expected which was nice. JP provided lots of pillows which was also a very nice touch. All the appliances worked as they should. JP was so kind and gave a detailed "training" session when we picked up the van to make sure I felt comfortable driving it. This was my first time renting a camper van, so I was a little nervous, but that really did help ease my anxieties before hitting the road. JP said we were his first booking on Outdoorsy, and he knocked it out of the park. Only thing to consider that I’d say to others is that there isn’t plumbing so you have to use a composting/bagging toilet systems. It was easy to use and very clean, but definitely different than flushing. 10/10 would recommend! Thanks again JP

Have a question?Get answers directly from the host

Q.What flexibility is available for picking up and dropping off the RV?
A.
We can offer early pickup and/or late drop-off times for an additional $50 respectively. We're open to working with you to fit your trip's scheduling!

Q.Can I take the van outside or Michigan or on longer trips?
A.
Yes! If you have a long trip in mind, please just reach out with more information. We will work with you to custom-quote your trip so we can make it more affordable given the extended time and distance of your trip.

Q.How does the power/electric system work?
A.
When plugged into an external power source (aka 'shore power'), the van has typical household-style 110v outlets to use. However, when the van is NOT plugged into shore power, these 110v outlets become inactive. When not plugged in, the van is only being powered by its cabin battery. At this point, built-in electric features such as cabin lights, the ceiling vent fan, and the 12v charging ports will receive electric power. This is standard in RVs to conserve the battery.
