You can bring along your family (large or small) or some close friends as this RV will sleep 8-10 people with a queen bed, set of full bunks, pull out sofa, and convertible table. You’ll almost forget you’re camping as the inside is spacious and contains all the amenities of home…fully functional kitchen (microwave, refrigerator, stove, and oven), TV entertainment center, table with lots of seating, and a comfy sofa. The bathroom has a spacious shower and even its own entry from the outside which is convenient when you don’t want to disturb others in the main living area of the camper. Or you can rinse off outside with the available outdoor shower. You’ll stay comfortable no matter the weather as it has heat and air conditioning inside and an awning for some extra shade outside. (Air conditioning will only work when you have 30A electrical hook ups or use our generator.)What's includedThe beds have clean linens and if you need the pull out couch or fold down table, linens are available for those as well. The TV even rotates to the queen bedroom for late night binge watching (streaming device and wifi not included). Or you can use it to listen to music inside and out! Our outdoor led strip lights will also ensure you can find your way around your campsite at night. If you plan to be off-grid, a generator is also available upon request.A portable pet fence can also be included if you’d like your pet friend to be off leash but to also stick around the campsite. RecommendationsThere are many beautiful places to explore in and around the Black Hills including Custer State Park, Mt Rushmore, Crazy Horse, and The Badlands. We also have many beautiful lakes like Pactola, Sheridan, Angostura, and Rocky Point at Orman Dam. So whether you are visiting these or another amazing location, you will have a landing place for your trip and make some great memories in this RV..Other things to noteThank you for allowing us to be part of your vacation. We want it to be positive in every possible way. While campers are very similar in function to a normal house, there are a few small differences to keep in mind. Here is a cheat sheet of helpful tips to make sure you have a great adventure! This list is based on frequent questions we have run into in the past. Please take the time to familiarize yourself with this list. This not only makes your trip smoother and safer, but it also helps avoid damage that you will be responsible for (and it includes all the legal things we are required to say).**Taking possession and returning: We strive to be as flexible as we can in working with your schedule. We schedule rental meet-up times in coordination with our work schedules. We will do everything we can within reason during daytime hours to fit your travel schedule. Once we agree upon a time, please honor the agreement and be on time, and plan your trip accordingly. Factor in time for stopping along the way and time zone changes (we are in mountain time zone). Once you set the time you plan on showing up, we expect you to honor it. We reserve the right to charge a late fee. After 30 minutes, it could be $20 for every 30 minutes rounded up. When taking possession, please allow for up to 30 minutes to go over paperwork and instructions. If you have any questions on how something functions or need clarification on this list, this is the best time to ask and get familiar with everything.**Driving: When pulling a large trailer there are several things to keep in mind for safety.
•Your vehicle MUST be capable of pulling 6,500 lbs with 600 lbs tongue weight. This includes (engine size, suspension, braking capability, and receiver hitch). Provide me with the make, model, and year of the vehicle you plan to tow with ahead of time. I will provide a weight distribution hitch with sway control that matches the camper. You must use this hitch to tow the camper. It will give you a more comfortable and safer ride.
•No one can ride in the camper while traveling. This is DOT law as well as EXTREMELY unsafe and could result in death.
•You will need an electric brake controller on your vehicle and adjust it correctly (usually at about 25% - 30% signal strength). If you are unsure if you have one or are not sure how to use it, I can help with that and could possibly help you locate and install one (depending on the vehicle and parts availability). This must be communicated ahead of time and is not included in the rental price. If desired, I can provide an estimate once I know the specifics.
•You MUST have a 7-pin connection for the wiring harness.
•Drive appropriate for changing conditions. Wind, rain, ice, hills, traffic, etc. all require extra caution. Provide plenty of space for stopping and slow down when appropriate. Travel times always take longer than expected when towing, especially in the Hills where we live. Plan drive times accordingly. The safe top speed rated for the tires is 65mph. Above this speed, they can overheat and fail. This could not only cause damage to the tires, but it could also damage the camper or cause an accident when they fail. If tire failure is due to excessive speed, you are responsible for the damages. Do not drive over 70mph. We reserve the right to monitor speed with a GPS system in the case of an accident.
•Keep all clearances in mind. Both height and width. Take wider turns and watch what you are driving under or around. You need 12-foot height clearance to avoid hitting anything on the roof. Don’t allow trees or other objects to make contact with the camper, both sides, AND the roof. They will damage the unit.
•When pulling a trailer, your inside turn radius is increased. You must account for this. If you need more instruction, look up “trailer off tracking” on Youtube.
**Gray water/Black water. Gray is from the sinks and the shower. Black is from the toilet. Each tank is 39 gallons. You can monitor the level of the tanks with the main control panel by the main door. When dumping them, dump the black first, then the gray. The hoses are stowed in the bumper along with a pair of gloves. Please keep fresh water and sewer connections in their own separate compartments when not in use and don’t intermix hoses/connections. This is for safety purposes. After dumping, add a couple of gallons of fresh water back into the black tank and add a holding tank tablet by flushing it down the toilet. They are located under the bathroom sink. This helps control odor as well as break down solids. If you need additional odor control between dumps, you can add a second tablet. Do not flush anything besides toilet paper approved for RV/or septic use. It will clog the system and possibly cause damage. The toilet paper we provide is compatible. If you need to get more on your trip, please shop accordingly. If I need to dump the tanks upon return, there is a $100 fee that will be assessed on the deposit. There are several dump stations throughout the Black Hills. Searching for ‘RV Dump Sites’ in your favorite search engine will show you the different sites. There are 3 in the Rapid City area that are free:
Common Cents, I90 Exit 63
Flying J Truck, I90 Exit 63
Holiday Gas station, in the vicinity of the Catron Blvd and Hwy 16 intersection (Caregiver Circle)
**Cleaning: At the end of your trip please clean everything to the condition or better than you received it in. This helps us to get it ready for the next guests. Do all the dishes, wipe down all surfaces (sinks, tub/shower if used, toilet, table, counter, stove, inside microwave if used, inside the fridge, door handles, etc.), sweep the floor and wipe up anything sticky on it. Remove all your belongings, food, and trash (we are not responsible for anything left behind. If you want an item returned if we find it, you are responsible for shipping costs). You can leave the bedding on the beds and we will take them off when we reset the camper. Please treat the camper with respect as if it were your own. If excessive cleaning is needed above the normal expectations, we will assess a $50/hour charge for cleaning. Pictures will be taken.**Smoking/Pets: Absolutely no smoking of ANY kind (tobacco, vaping, sage, incense, marijuana, etc) inside the camper and keep pets from making messes or causing damage. Any damage from smoking or pets will result in a cleaning fee of $75/hour plus materials to restore the damage. This will be taken out of the damage deposit. If it costs more than the deposit, you will still be responsible for the balance.**No financial transactions of any kind outside the rental app platform will be accepted. We hope you have an enjoyable time! If so, please leave us a review. If not, please let us know how we could have made it more enjoyable!
