This lovely and very well taken care of 1988 Westfalia Camper in Baby Blue landed in our lap this April. A true one owner vehicle, this van was pampered its entire life, so the ride is sweet and the interior is perfect. It has a new engine and extensive mechanical upgrades, including oversize 16" wheels for extra stability.This Summer, we replaced the original, single window pop top canvas with a new three window tent, cleaned the fresh water tank, and replaced all the fresh water hoses. A new (iphone compatible) JVC bluetooth enabled digital media player was installed along with four new speakers, so you can stream music wirelessly from your phone and charge it as well using the USB port.Looking for something a little different? Please note the pass is not valid for city operated beach parking or overnight camping, regardless of location.Want to rent surfboards or more camping gear? We've got you covered. Just check of the list of what you want (fees apply) and we'll handle the rest.Other things to notePlease keep in mind that this is a vintage rig, max highway speed is 65 mph, and even with all the upgrades and a perfectly tuned stock engine, the van is quite slow up hills (45-50 mph) and climbing steep grades should be avoided whenever possible. Please note that travel on or over the "grapevine" is strictly forbidden (the pass on the 5 freeway between LA and Bakersfield), so if you're traveling the coast, the 101 should be your route of choice.This is a manual (stick shift) vehicle. You must be able to proficiently pilot this vehicle in order to take possession at time or rental, and you should also be familiar with cab-over vehicle handling. Please DO NOT rent the van if you've never driven stick, or if you are out of practice or are unsure of your ability to drive a manual. These are not performance vehicles - they are vintage beach cruisers and must be treated with love & care.No smoking at all (of any kind) inside the van, and pets are also not allowed.

My wife Amanda and I are the owners / founders of a small women's surf & swimwear brand called SEEA. Since moving to Southern California in 2010, we've been surfing at San Onofre and exploring the Pacific coast, from Baja up to Big Sur. We got our first VW in 2014, the same year our daughter was born. Since then, restoring VW's has been my main passion and hobby. Westfalia campers are truly unique vehicles, and there's simply nothing I like better than cruising the coast with my family in a well-tuned vintage van. As a natural extension of our own surf & travel adventures, the decision to share that stoke with others is a joyous one - so we're excited to introduce SAN-O VAN as a fun, alternative platform for your surf centric coast explorations.

- Security deposit: $500.00 (refundable)
- Prep fee: $40.00. This fee will cover preparing and sanitizing the unit prior to each rental, as well as providing a full tank of on board drinking water (17 gallons) and full house propane tank for the galley.

"Lynsey and her family were great! Punctual with pickup and drop off, they took great care of our vintage van and returned it clean and re-fueled, as requested. Happy they were able to make some fun memories down at San Onofre this Summer. Would gladly rent to Lynsey and her family again anytime!"

We had an incredible time with this super well maintained Westfalia pop top camper!!
Brian was super thorough with explaining the in's and out's of the van and we had no issues as a result. The van is super spacious and clean, drives well....actually super fun to drive and we enjoyed being able to chill in the van at the end of a full day on the beach. I would highly recommend "The Point" you won't be disappointed! We would love to own one of these, especially one this nice!!

What a great experience. The van was really clean, ran like a top, and very comfortable to stay in. All of the bells and whistles included on this 88' Westfalia and Brian made check in and check out incredibly easy. I highly recommend and I will definitely be renting from him again!

Q.What flexibility is available for picking up and dropping off the RV?
A.
We prefer onsite pickup / drop off for ease of walk through and the best experience. Renters are welcome to leave their vehicle on-site during their trip (at their own risk) for rentals of seven days or less. Arrangements can be made for vehicle delivery in the orange county area for an additional fee, depending on distance from San Clemente. Pickups at John Wayne Airport (SNA - Orange County) can also be arranged if needed. Sorry but LAX runs are not possible.
