“Classic” a ‘94 4x4 Toyota xtracab which is all original with low miles in great
shape. All camping equipment is included in the daily rate. Renting this vehicle will bring you the nostalgia of blending in with your fellow Alaskans who are also adventuring within their own state. Classic is good looking and solid driving. I have gone over the inside and out to make sure you will have a great Alaskan adventure. “Classic” is a five speed manual so you must know how to drive a stick shift! It is imperative that you know how to use a clutch to rent this truck. Classic is equipped with a Roof Nest Condor XL with a queen size bed which has lots of headspace. It has a 23 Zero Peregrine 270 awning, which is beefy and will protect you from the elements. All of this sits on an aluminum commercial ARE Topper that can be fully locked for you to store your expensive mountain bikes or gear. The truck is equipped with, a bamboo table, two chairs, camp chef cast iron double burner stove and all of the cooking accoutrements that you will need on your Alaskan adventure including a cast iron skillet and pots and utensils. One cooler and a 5 gallon water jug will also be provided. Classic has a blue tooth stereo for your hands free communication and music needs. I will provide the Alaska gazetteer and information on camping food and restaurants for Homer, Seward, Kenai, and Fairbanks. If you ask me about any destination on the road system I will provide you with information based on 25 years of Alaskan camping experience.
What's includedThe truck is equipped with an extra large roof top tent 270 awning sitting on a lockable commercial aluminum topper Bamboo table double sink table with a five gallon water tank with running water via foot pump two chairs silverware cooking utensils camp fire utensils basic tool kit jack spare tire and tow rope. Airport pick up and drop off is included when renting this vehicle from Ted Stevens International Airport. RecommendationsI recommend you familiarize yourself by watching YouTube videos on the set up and take down of both the Roof Nest Condor xl roof top tent and the 23Zero Peregrine 270 awning paying close attention to details of how to support the awning to the ground when in windy areas. The awning must be guyed to the ground when there is wind. Campfires can send sparks which can potentially burn holes in both the awning and roof top tent. You will save us both a lot of time and money if you use good judgement regarding wind direction and proximity of your campfire. I will show you how to operate both the set up and take down of both units upon picking up the vehicle. Also, please know how to use a clutch. The vehicle is a standard five speed. Please respect this vehicle and it’s contents. Everything is in very good condition.Other things to noteClassic belongs at music festivals! This truck is not to be used for off road purposes.. You may drive on municipal and state maintained roads minus the Dalton highway from Fairbanks. If you must drive up the Dalton additional fees will be charged. You must communicate your intention to do so before taking the vehicle. You will be held responsible for any damages incurred on your adventure. A walk around at the beginning and end of your trip with sign offs on checklist will be required for your safety and mine.

Hi I am Tim, an avid Alaskan outdoorsman who climbs mountain bikes fishes kayaks hikes runs hunts and gardens. I love sleeping in a tent a bivouac or camping along the roads of Alaska in my Westy. My favorite road trip is the Seward Homer Fairbanks and Valdez circuit which I have guided tourists well before offering my overland truck on Outdoorsy. I have worked in the outdoors with troubled youth for most of my career teaching backcountry skills of the Alaskan wilds.

Tim was an awesome host, very passionate and knowledgeable of the outdoors. The truck setup with the camper worked flawlessly for our trip and I couldn’t recommend this rig or the host enough!

Tim is an extremely helpful and well informed host. Think of Tim as a Guide, of the kind you would normally need to pay, whose expertise comes for free with the cool truck that you're renting.
